The Horizon project Hephaestus explores, speculates on and shapes the future of craft in Europe by focusing on a renewed role for traditional craft work in contemporary societies. The collaborative set up between academia and craft practitioners develops at the crossroad between preservation and innovation, exploring ideas and possibilities of new business models for craft, new markets, new technologies.
